Don't Turn Back

As we begin to make changes in our lives and start moving forward, pressing toward our destiny, we can sometimes begin to dwell on the past. Even as God begin to elevate you to new heights, the enemy will try to bring up your past to get you off course. But you must remember it is the past for a reason. It's so easy to get caught up in the what ifs of life. What if that relationship didn't end? What if I hadn't lost my job? What if I had stayed in school? What if I moved to another city when I had the chance? What if the enemy hadn't attacked me the way they did? And sometimes it's not the what ifs of life, we can sometimes get caught up in what happened to us or what somebody did to us. But that is the past and we must leave the past where it belongs, in the past. When you allow your past to hold you hostage, you lose sight of what's in front of you. You lose sight of the victory that God has declared for your life. You lose sight of the purpose God has for your life. You lose sight of the blessings that awaits you on the other side. You lose sight of the greatness that God is manifesting on the inside of you. So stop looking back, that's not the direction that you're headed in. Press forward towards what God has for you. Press towards your destiny. Press towards your blessings. Press towards your new beginning. God has created you for a purpose and He has hold of something that is tailored made just for you. But in order to get to what God has for you, you have to press forward, moving towards Him. God has a plan for you and when you move forward and stop looking behind you, you will gain the prize that only God can supply. Don't let your past and your surroundings keep you from pressing forward. Things may be difficult, you may be under attack, your past may keep trying to resurface, people may be turning their backs on you, you may not have all that God has promised you just yet but you must trust God, trust the process, thank God along the journey, keep pressing forward towards the prize and DON'T TURN BACK!!!

Prayer:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before your throne of grace thanking you for another day to walk the path you have set before us. God we thank you for all that you are doing in our lives. God we thank you for the good and for the bad, for we know that the bad we experience you are working for our good. Heavenly Father we ask you for strength, strength to continue to press forward towards what you have awaiting us. God we know that you are right with us on this journey and as we press forward we thank you for being with us every step of the way and we ask that you protect us and continue to love us. When we have the desire to look back, to turn back, God suppress that desire in each of us. Keep our eyes focused on you and focused in front of us, not behind us. We thank you God for the lessons we learned from our past but God keep us from dwelling on the past. God we love you and we know that we can't do this without you. We thank you in advance for what awaits us on the other end of our press.
