Today is a day that represents so many things to different people. A day to spend time with family. A day that is spent worshiping with other believers. A day to bring a smile to children's faces. A day filled with Easter Egg Hunts, Easter baskets, Easter brunches and more. But for the believer of Christ, this day is a time to reflect on the sacrifice that God made for all of us. The sacrifice that has saved all of us from ourselves, our sin and the sin of this world.
He Is Risen
A phrase that is seen every year on Easter. A Word in the Bible that shows that ultimate meaning of love and more. These three words alone demonstrates how nothing can keep God from doing the impossible and how His promises will always come to pass. The world did everything it could to try to denounce who Jesus was, to discredit Him, to try to say that He was a liar, and to try to steal His power. But on this day we are able to look at His Word and see how nothing can get in the way of God. Jesus was betrayed, killed and even placed in a sealed tomb with a soldier on guard to try to keep the Word of God from coming to pass. But when we go to the tomb today, we know that it is empty, because Jesus rose just like He said He would. Everything that Jesus went through on this side of Heaven was to get Him to that empty tomb. To get Him to the throne with our Heavenly Father. To save all of us and show us that God's Word for our lives will come to pass. To show all of us that God loves us so much that nothing can get in the way of that love. That lies, betrayal, heartbreak, sin, not even a soldier, a sealed tomb, or even death can stop God from moving in your life. That even in death, God is undefeated.
So as you take time today to reflect on the sacrifice of Jesus, remember that God is right here with you today, reminding you that whatever He has said for your life will happen. That nothing and nobody will be able to get in the way of His promises and His will. Trust God today and everyday to be there for you. Trust that He is proving His love for you today just as He did over 2000 years ago. God will not fail, no matter what obstacles are thrown in your way, He will use the plot of the enemy to raise you up. Just has Jesus has risen, you too will rise with God by your side.
Scripture:
5 The angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. 6 He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay.
~Matthew 28:5-6
