It's so hard not to get caught up in our past. As we begin to move forward in life, the enemy will try to bring up our past to get us off track. He will us our past mistakes, our past experiences to try to make us feel like we're not good enough, that we won't be successful, that we will never make it out of our current circumstances. But we must not let our past get in the way of our future. We must forget and move on from our past. We must learn to let go of everything, every person, every place from our past and may be in our present, that is getting in the way of where God is taking us, getting in the way of the calling over our lives. When things get difficult we are so quick to turn back to who we used to be but we are reminded to forget the former things, our former ways, and not to dwell on what's behind us. God is doing a new thing in all of our lives and in order to make it to our new we must leave behind our old. God did not say that the road to our new me would be an easy road but He did promise that He would never leave us nor forsake us, He did promise that He would make a way out of no way, we do know that even though we may be walking through the valley right now, He's right there with us. God is using your past experiences and your current circumstances for your good. The hardships, the heartbreak, the loneliness, the tears you shed, all the pain, God is using it all to mold you into your new me, to shape you into the person He wants you to be in the new season. You may not see it now, the pain may seem to be getting you down and making you want to turn back but God will keep His promise and continue to provide for you in your current circumstance as He prepares the new you. God is doing something new in you and in your life. So don't turn back, keep pushing forward because the glorious new you in awaiting on the other side.
Scripture:
Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.
~Isaiah 43:18-19
Prayer:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before you to say thank you. Thank you for allowing us to see yet another day. Thank you for the blessings that you have given unto us and the blessings that are to come. Thank you Heavenly Father for the lessons learned as you continue to mold us into all that you have called us to be. As we continue to go through this season of growth we pray that you continue to give us the strength to endure. Give us the strength to make it through the good times and the bad times. Give us the strength to embrace the changes that you are making in our lives. God we thank you for change. For we know that without change there is no growth. Heavenly Father we thank you for all that you have done, all that you are doing and we thank you for what you are going to do. We thank you for the new things you are doing in all of our lives.
In Jesus name we do pray,
Amen
